ヘッドピース、ヘッドウエア、帽子などの装身具を取り扱うブランド

豊かな文化遺産と伝統工芸で知られる京都にアトリエを構え、日本のヘッドピース文化を守り広めながら、ファッションと文化的クラフトのあいだに位置するヘッドピースや帽子、装飾品を制作している。

幼少期に職人と芸術に囲まれた環境で育つ。父は昆虫採集を趣味とする革職人、祖母は下北沢で生地店を営みながら洋裁を、大叔母は帽子づくりを行い、大叔父は日本で初めて彫刻専門のギャラリーを開設した人物である。

幼い頃からこのような環境で育ち、自然に素材や手仕事に触れながら、やがてヘッドピースの美しさに魅了され、独学で制作を開始。その後、ヘッドピースや帽子、装飾品の制作に専門的に取り組みはじめる。

現在は京都でアトリエ兼ショップを運営しながら作品を発表するほか、百貨店でのイベントや展示にも定期的に参加している。また、フォトスタジオ、雑誌の撮影作品などにも衣装提供をしており、ファッションと文化の両分野に活動の幅を広げている。

ヴィンテージやアンティークのコレクターでもあり、古いデザインへの愛情は素材選びにも表れている。使用する木型や素材は1930年代頃のものから現代のものまで幅広く扱っており、それぞれの作品は固有の歴史を宿し、その魅力と希少性をさらに高めている。

豊かで鮮やかな文化を広めていくとともに、ヘッドピースが単なるアクセサリーではなく、日本の文化と職人技を象徴する存在となる未来を思い描いている。

millinery mino is a brand specializing in headpieces, headwear, hats, and other adornments.

Her atelier is located in Kyoto, a city renowned for its rich cultural heritage and traditional craftsmanship. This location inspires her designs and serves as a testament to her commitment to preserving and promoting Japanese headpiece culture. 

She grew up surrounded by craftsmanship and art. Her father was a leather craftsman with a passion for insect collecting, her grandmother ran a fabric shop in "Shimokitazawa" while working as a dressmaker, her great aunt made hats, and her great uncle was the first Japanese person to establish a gallery dedicated exclusively to sculpture.

Growing up in this environment, she was naturally exposed to materials and handcraft from an early age. Fascinated by the beauty of headpieces, she began creating them independently through self directed study and later dedicated herself professionally to the creation of headpieces, hats, and other adornments.

She currently runs an atelier and shop in Kyoto. In addition to presenting her work there, she regularly participates in department store events and exhibitions. Her works have also been provided for films and photography, expanding her activities across both fashion and cultural fields.

Her love for old designs is reflected in her choice of materials. She is also a vintage and antique collector, and the hat blocks and materials she uses range widely from around the 1930s to contemporary pieces. Each piece carries its own unique history, which further enhances its charm and rarity.

Her ultimate goal is to share and expand this rich and vibrant culture. She envisions a future in which headpieces are not merely accessories, but symbols of Japanese culture and craftsmanship.
